Tibits on the Seefeldstrasse is the original Zürich location for this popular vegetarian/vegan concept restaurant.  A new location opened just next door behind the famed Opera House because the original location became too small. Both Tibits are very close to the lake, and convenient if you are in the city exploring various popular locations during the day or evening.

Like all Tibits restaurants (there are currently 11 and counting locations throughout Switzerland), they focus on a self-service buffet system. All foods are labeled according to allergens, intolerances and use of dairy. Diners pay per weight, which means there is an inherent danger of loading too much food on the plate because it all looks quite yummy. Drinks are handled at the counter where you pay.

This Tibits location opens daily at 11 am, and on Sundays at 10 am for brunch service.

I advise early arrival for lunch or dinner, because it fills up quickly. Reservations can be made ahead of time through their website. There is also a special section for small kids to play, and a separate room if you are more interested in remaining quiet.

I love this place when I’m in Zürich and looking for a place to meet friends and share a good meal.
