Until recently when going to a concert, sports event, musical show or to any fair, eating plant-based before or after the event was difficult in Oerlikon.

Now there is Tibits within walking distance to all the event locations and close to the train station. Tibits is a vegetarian restaurant chain with locations all over Switzerland and also in London.

They are focusing on a self service buffet style system. All foods are labeled according to allergens, intolerances and use of dairy. You pay per weight with the existing danger of loading too much on the plate because all looks quite yummy. Soups and drinks are handed to you at the counter where you pay.

All Tuesdays are completely vegan and for the rest of the week the food items are 80% vegan. It is easy to help yourself to a plate of plant-based items but be aware Tibits is using margarine, coconut oil, coconut butter and coconut milk.

You can eat at Tibits non stop from breakfast to dinner, from Monday to Sunday. I have been at Tibits on several occasions mostly for a quick snack and I like the easy going style of the friendly staff and service.
